The young girl falls and dies, and handicapped dad is framed. The story quickly reveals that the dead girl's dad is the police chief's daughter. Handicapped dad is sent to prison and is on death row. The rest of the movie basically follows some antics of what happens when the girl is repeatedly smuggled into the jail cell to spend time with him, and what happens when the handicapped dad faces a tough dilemma near the end of the movie. Some Amazon reviewers here are talking about a 'twist' at the end of the movie. I'm not sure exactly what twist they are referring to, since virtually the entire movie is predictable given its flashback structure. Nevertheless I'll try not to give away too much. For me, the movie falls apart on three different levels. The first has to do with the realism of the basic driving scenes in the movie (i. e. how the girl gets smuggled in). (OK, other Amazon reviewers have already covered this. ) The second has to do with the lack of any kind of cohesion or symbolism of the side plots.
