Mila vole d'ailleurs la vedette à Justin en se montrant pétillante et drôle (et elle dit du mal de " l'abominable vérité "! ), alors que lui reste un peu plus en retrait même s'il n'hésite pas à se moquer de lui-même ou de son image d'ex-chanteur. Bien évidemment dans ce genre de films, la fausse méchanceté vis-à-vis des comédies romantiques traditionnelles est vite écartée pour laisser la place à la romance pure et dure et la seconde partie du film est déjà beaucoup plus en ligne avec ce qui me plait. Moments heureux, ruptures, retrouvailles, il ne manque rien et l'humour reste toujours présent. On assiste en plus à un défilé de visages connus, outre Rashida Jones et Jason Segel déjà mentionnés, puisque Patricia Clarkson, Emma Stone, Andy Samberg et Jenna Elfman sont de la partie, avec aussi un Woody Harrelson de haute-volée. Bref, les seconds rôles sont là et bien là. Rien à redire du côté des chansons et des décors, même si, petit twist, on a là le droit aux paysages de New York ainsi que ceux de la côte californienne.

A sex addict re-enacts every one of her 169 conquests on a road trip across America with a man she's only just met – he's got testicular cancer – in this shallow, dismally unfunny comedy from Nico Raineau. Brittany Snow does her best to make the character convincing but not only is the movie (clearly inspired by Amy Schumer's Trainwreck) a comedy dead zone, it is virtually devoid of recognisably real human beings. In a nicely tuned performance, Snow plays Darla, a cynical sex columnist sacked from her job on a magazine after being caught shagging an intern in the editor's office. (The firing is nicely spiky: "You're not the only nympho who can form a sentence. ") An earlier sexual harassment complaint means that Darla is forced to attend a sex addicts' group where she meets adorable Bailey (Sam Richardson), a sweet guy who's walked into the wrong meeting: he's meant to be next door with the cancer survivors. The script completely fudges Darla's sex addiction – one minute she's a liberated woman doing her thing, the next she's facing up to her behaviours and recovery.

Mixed with the revelation that Sookie was abused by creepy Uncle Barlett, it's an illuminating evening for them both. So much so, that Bill decides to pay said uncle a little visit – woebetide anyone who has ever even thought about upsetting his human. Sookie's first time over with, it's time for Jason Stackhouse to try a few new things, starting with a trip to Fangtasia on a yellow brick quest for some V. After Lafayette scored a first of his own by refusing to sell Jason any more blood, the boy's arrival at the club could well have been his first and last trip anywhere if the vamps had figured what the hell he was talking about.
