Con il proseguire degli episodi viene dato maggior risalto al legame che si instaura tra Brian e Rebecca, alle vicende legate all'NZT (e relativi complotti), ma sopratutto alla figura di Jarrod Sands (Colin Salmon), ex agente dell'intelligence e faccendiere di Morra. Sands è il contatto tra Brian e Morra ma ben presto diventa il vero antagonista della serie. Pur mantenendo un forte taglio ironico, la serie, soprattutto nella parte conclusiva di stagione, riesce ad esprimere molteplici sfaccettature, come dimostrato anche dal doppio episodio conclusivo che evidenzia un carattere thriller fino a quel momento mostrato solo in parte e rimarcando un trait d'union con il film a cui deve le origini.

On the positive side it was well acted, and there were redeeming/uplifting moments in the memorial service and Orlando's cross country drive. Initially his life is ruined due to a massive business failure, not clear how you lose a billion dollars on shoes but he managed it and he was going to end it all. The film is his journey to the family home town in rural USA to arrange his fathers funeral. The family and community change his perspective and then he goes on a pre arranged journey around various key places in the USA and eventually with a happy ending. It is an American film after all so it has to have a happy ending. Some humour and a generally happy film although he is unsure how to deal with the myth he is a successful businessmen when it is about to break in the national media that he is ruined.
